Hailing from Mullumbimby, Northern Rivers NSW, Dr Eric Mills began his studies with biomedical science before changing over to Medicine at The University of Newcastle. Graduating with distinction, he proceeded to complete his internship, residency and paediatric training throughout the Hunter New England, Taree and the Central Coast.

Eric has an interest in all areas of Paediatrics, with a focus on supporting the whole family unit and holistic care.

Why did you want to become a kids' doctor instead of a doctor for grown-ups?

I’ve always connected with the joy, curiosity, and resilience of children, and there’s nothing more rewarding than helping them thrive. I love the challenges of not only diagnosing and treating medical conditions but also communicating with children and families in a way that makes them feel understood and supported.

What is your favourite dinosaur?

Velociraptor - I loved Jurassic Park and the Lost World movies and books. Velociraptors are awesome and scary.

What do you do when you’re not being a doctor?

I love spending time with my young family, ocean swimming or surfing, watching anime, reading fantasy and sci-fi books and playing games of all sorts.

If you could pick any superpower what would it be?

Not a superpower per say, but I’d be a Saiyan. Flying, super strength, laser beams - the whole package. Plus being able to eat tonnes of food is a plus.
